If you arrive on a Dublin-cleared flight to, say, EWR or ORD, and you have a connecting onward flight, will the bag transfer at EWR or ORD be automatic? Or is it necessary to claim it at domestic bag return and recheck it? The reason I ask is that I saw an article about the LCY-JFK BA flights and somewhere I thought it mentioned that pax clear US Immigration in DUB but still have a customs check when they arrive at JFK. Which sounds odd unless they have a special corridor for arriving passengers that bypasses immigration but then directs the pax to the international baggage claim.
