UA's recent devaluation of miles in a number of areas, including TATL Y which is what I usually redeem, also makes AA's program look more attractive.
UA's Y Saver Award now matches AA's on-peak MileSAAver Award, so there's no AAdvantage unless you travel in the winter, in which case AA is still fewer miles.
