That's part of the problem; I was there (as opposed to somewhere else) specifically to get the AAdvantage 5000 mile thing. I didn't want them to mess up my account (say, with any refunding) in a way that could invalidate that.
Also, I didn't have any idea whether an alarm clock should have been there or not. I was so confused by this strange (to me) loft room that it took me a while to figure out was there but just in weird places and what plain wasn't, and by the time I realized I had no alarm clock I was seconds away from watching a movie and didn't want someone interrupting me (by calling back, coming by DOWNSTAIRS with an alarm clock, whatever) to fix the problem.
And then before posting my message, I did a search here and found several complaints about Sheraton hotels without alarm clocks, but those before mine were I think all in Europe. So at that point I didn't know what the US policy might be...
Thanks for all the info! I'll be better prepared if I have a chance to stay at this or another Sheraton or other SPG property in the future.
