I would agree with those who recommend Argentina. I would do EZE, 3-4 days in BsAs, then maybe a sidetrip like AEP-MDZ for 2 days in Mendoza, returning back home (MDZ-AEP, bus to EZE, EZE-home or MDZ-SCL-home).

I suggest adventure, not lounging. Get your mind off things. I had a nearly 2 year break from employment. The last thing I wanted was empty time to let my mind wander.
