Who to contact

stifle, FriendlySkies, and anyone else, I would suggest you

- leave a question at: Tourism Australia Enquiries asking what they know about the proposed installation of Body Scanners, and pointing out that it would affect your decision to travel;

- contact the Australian Government Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism with similar comments;

- contact the Australian Government Department of Infrastructure and Transport who are responsible for making the decision.

In stifle's case, I would highlight the fact that you would cancel a trip that's already booked because of this.

That said, I still have a bit of optimism about this. It's nearly April and the "by early 2011" goal has passed, so they're certainly not rushing into it. Also, a lot has changed since the press release a year ago announcing the NoS. The Labor Party took a pounding at the NSW state election this weekend, and at the national level, the Labor party holds power by a very narrow margin after the election last August. The uproar in the US may have dampened their enthusiasm. So they may be (or not??) a bit more cautious than when this was first planned.
