You can still upgrade just as if you bought it on co.com.......
That's a good question. I generally like to cut out the middle man and book directly with the airline so I didn't think to look outside the box.
I'll look into the Orbitz/Expedia policies (customer-requested rebooking, airline-forced rebooking, irrops, etc) and fees (booking, change, cancel, etc) to see how they stack up if the PMCO/UACO e-commerce system can't ticket my trips.
Will I still get full OP/MP miles (100% EQM and 200% RDM) if I book through Orbitz/Expedia given my fare baiss? I think I read there are some limitations on earning miles with non-CO.com bookings.
edit: Required a 5 segment trip on Expedia to get the flights I wanted, which then priced out at $2800 over the fare I was looking for. Teased my desired flights out of Orbitz using preferred airlines and even with their ticketing fees (since it's a multi-carrier itin) it's still $43 cheaper than ITA Software quotes.
