Baggage woes still burdening travellers

From the print edition of the Toronto Star (by Susan Pigg). "Air Canada continues to be dogged by a baggage handling crisis at Pearson International Airpot"...Frazzled Air Canada officials were telling passengers earlier this week that about 1,700 bags had yet to united with their owners. But by last night just 200 were awaiting return...However, passangers are being warned that they may still see disruptions...[due to] ongoing problems with the baggage conveyor system."
As a follow-up to this piece of news your FT correspondent did some snooping to get a better story. Here it is...but don't check:
Undisclosed Air Canada sources have notified your FT correspondent that they plan a midnight trip to Terminal 3 and expect to return with at least one operational baggage conveyor "It is easy to paint out the word '3000' and add the word "Air" to the logo on all that good stuff that's just sitting there. After all, we're still in business and they're not." B1
