HGI San Francisco Airport - Burlingame revisited

Report night of Thursday, March 24, 2011
Best refundable rate was SENIOR RATE ($119 on this weekday, $89 last Sunday) plus taxes

This hotel is bayside (but fronts on a highway-paralleling tidal creek, not the Bay itself) of Highway US-101, south of San Francisco International Airport, with shuttle service every twenty minutes during extended hours (shared), and by arrangement during mid-day hours.

I can't really improve on mcgahat's excellent review with photos (thanks!)^, so I will just stick with the facts and tell you what it has now after two-year closure.

The reception was well done, and we were given breakfast chits as well as a chit for two bottles of water from the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry. Even numbered rooms face the back of the property and the Red Roof + inn, and I can hear noise. In March 2017, we watched the police detain a driver in the Red Rood parking lot.

The rooms are recently refurbished, clean and bright classic Hilton Garden Inn.

).

They offer the usual fitness center with small pool, coin-operated laundry and complimentary Business Center with remote printing via PrinterOn. (For the convenience of those who will be staying there:

)

The Great American Grill restaurant is open 06:00 – 10:00 weekdays, and until 11:00 weekends; lunch is served 7 days a week 11:00 – 14:00 / 2PM, and dinner is served 17:00 – 5PM – 22:30 / 10:30PM daily. Room service is available during dinner hours only. Dinner is somewhat abbreviated, with only five main selections on the menu.

Breakfast $12.95 American all you can eat / $8.95 children's) is a bit less extensive than at most other HGIs -orange juice, bowls of honeydew, water- and cantaloupe melons, pineapple chunks, grapes and grapefruit halves were the fruit. We gave our eggs order to the server; pancakes, French toast are also on offer, but no waffles. The staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. No standing in queues here - the efficient waiter takes your orders.
