A Guide to AC's Fare Classes: What they really mean

Now that we are confronted with the change to upgrading fare classes, I for one would like to have a clearer idea what each fare class really means. I will start with a bare bones description as I recall it, and hope others will flesh out detials like upgradeability, sameday standby, change fees, refundability, etc. In this way, we can have a reference guide for our bookings in 2002.

For example:

L/N are generally the cheapest fares sold by AC, often as Seat Sales, Weekend Web Specials, and other special promotions. They must be paid for upon booking. The advance booking windosw vary with the specific nature of the promotional fare. N can also represent a "night fare", i.e. a flight departing after 7 pm. Believe L is being used on western triangle discounted fares requiring no return and can be booked up to 3-days in advance.

Q is the standard year round advance booking class fare, generally requiring a minimum 14-days advance booking, payment/ticking within 24-hours of making the reservation. Saturday overnight required.

V is a minimum 7-day advance booking fare, payment not required until 7-days prior to flight. Until Feb 28th, it is upgradeable for SEs and Elites within NAmerica, and elsewhere for just SEs. Saturday overnight required. Minimum stay may be required on international routes.

H is also an advance booking fare requiring a minimum 7-days booking/payment. It is upgradeable by SEs and Es within NAmerica, and elsewhere for just SEs. Virtually the same as V, but I believe permits changes without penalty. Saturday overnight required. Minimum stay may be required on international flights.

T is a short-window booking fare [3-days] available on select NAmerican routes. Upgradeable.

Y is full fare, fully flexible economy which can be booked at any time, fully changeable without penalty or change fees, fully refundable. Upgradeable by any elite within advance confirmation windows.

C is a discounted Executive Class fare, or upgraded seating.

J is full fare, fully flexible Executive Class which can be booked at any time, fully changeable without penalty or change fees, fully refundable.

What have I omitted. [Lots I am sure.]
