I used to have Marriott Visa, Hilton, and Starwood AMEX. Now I only have Marriott and Starwood. As you said the Hilton gets you more points when you use it but it also cost three times as many points for free nights. The Marriott is a Visa which is accepted amost everywhere while the Hilton is AMEX which is more difficult to use. One advantage with the AMEX is if you shop at Costco where they only accept AMEX. Since the Hilton AMEX doesn't charge a yearly fee, you may want to get both. If I could only have one, I would go with the Marriott Visa.
