I bought 4 fares on vayama from sfo -> bcn on AC. The first leg (sfo -> yyz) is a codeshare flight by UA but operated by AC. The 2nd leg (yyz -> bcn) and return flights (bcn -> yul & yul -> sfo) are on AC (not codeshare).

I called AC to select seats and the agent had no issues giving me my seat choices for the 2nd leg and return flights. The codeshare flight she was not able to give me seats; her system would not confirm my seat choices. She told me to call vayama and vayama's system say to get seats on check in.

I am concerned about getting seat assignments on checkin as I have 2 young ones and don't want us spread thruout the plane and the possibility of not getting on the plane.

Interestingly when I logged on to AC to print out my flight itinerary and passenger info, it shows that I have seats assigned according to my choices (including the codeshare) but when I checked the seat selection screen for seat choices, it shows those seats are empty (not assigned) for the code share flight.

Can anyone give me pointers on how to proceed at this point? Our flight is not until July/2011. I don't know why AC cannot assign seats for a codeshare flight that is operated by AC. Certainly, UA can't help as they don't have access to AC reservation system.
