Not such great news until 5/31. Just checked in after some late night onsite work, and was informed by the night clerk that construction will start at 8:30 or 9:00 "basically everywhere." Desk in room has a letter mentioning that guests should close the curtains because work crews will be on scaffolding in the morning, and that the room is only partially renovated because of shipping delays.

Well, the aforementioned drapes are falling off the track, and the delayed furnishings apparently include the light fixture in the sink area -- because there ISN'T ONE. That's right, the sink (toilet and tub are in separate room) has no source of illumination -- only a galvanized electrical box next to the mirror. I sincerely wish I were kidding.

Hotel has a "special conditions" link on its website mentioning renovations, but it only says something vague about a total reno and then says the lobby has moved and the pool and fitness area are closed. Nothing about half-finished rooms and morning construction work. I suspect the GM and I will be having a discussion in the morning.
