Whilst enjoying the customary wait on board for a domestic stand to come available yesterday morning, I was watching the new transporter system in operation linking T5 and the car hire areas. It occurred to me that the terminus for the pods is very close to the Thistle hotel.

Has anyone tried using this as a way to get to the Thistle? Is it possible to do so?

If it is then this place, which is usually rather cheap compared with the Sofitel (albeit for a rather less impressive experience) might be a good option for a quick overnight stay without the need to use the local buses or the (appallingly-titled, over-priced) "Hoppa" service.
