About 10 months ago, I bought a non-refundable ticket on Continental for my best friend to visit me. The reservation was canceled for personal reasons but the ticket remains valid. It's value is about $950. I now want to use that ticket for myself. This forum has step-by-step advice on how to do this:

I went to the airport today to book the throw-away ticket in my friend's name so I could get the voucher to book the ticket I really want in my name. The Continental folks refused to book the throw-away ticket. They said my friend has to do that himself.
Did the Continental agent make a mistake today?
Also, are the vouchers electronic or paper? I was thinking I would just call Continental to book the throw-away ticket and get the voucher. But time is a problem. I can't wait for a paper voucher to arrive in the mail. I need to travel before it probably would get to my house. But if the vouchers are electronic, that obviously would solve my problem.
Your advice would be appreciated!
