Sorry to burst y'alls bubbles, but in this transplanted Texan's humble opin-one,

1) Gov'ner Goodhair (Perry) has 2012 presidential ambitions.
2) Given 1), he's not going to want to grab a third rail and open himself to "Soft on terror" in a GOP primary dogpile.
3) Given 1) and 2), and the fact that Texas is pretty much a "one party rule" state, and the fact that he's at the top of that particular heap, I'd think he's going to do nothing more than give some folks some leash to blow wind, nothing concrete will come of it.

And I'll continue to drive or use Amtrak for my Texas-related travel, while my WN rapid reward flights gradually expire from non-use...
