Called UA. The agent hadn't heard about the cancellation and checked with a supervisor, who also didn't know. They supposedly even called SFO and were told that the airport was currently planning to send out UA853 on the 26th (which appears on the schedule zero'd out).
I had a similar experience on the phone. I spent the better part of 15 minutes trying to convince the agent that the flight doesn't exist anymore after reading the reports here, but after a few chats with her supervisors they got it figured out and switched us over to 838.
It sounds like we're on the same flight. If you're bored in the upper deck, say hi to the guys with their laptops out most of the flight sitting backwards. Row 13 I believe.
