Really? ST seems more cohesive than Star Alliance. Although perhaps OW is the best in that respect. Not coincidently that matches the number of airlines in each alliance.

Sure LH and UA are similar, as are QF and BA, as are AF, KL and DL. But most of the other add on airlines do not have much in the way of joint standards. The Asian and middle eastern airlines mostly do things their own way.
