Several months ago I booked 3 open jaw partner award tickets on DL for SEA-PDX-NRT, KIX-SEA for mid-April. (SEA-PDX segment on QX)
While concerned and saddened by recent events, we were holding the line on going as scheduled if possible. However, we are traveling with our toddler and today's announcement that Tokyo's tap water is now officially unsafe for infants due to Iodine-131 contamination pretty much rules out our making this trip until fall, if at all.
DL has opened a free-change window for flights to/from NRT and HND through end of April.
I have no idea if I can
- Change my flights at all.
- Change outbound and return dates.
- Change destination or origin of outbound and/or return legs, respectively.
- Change the ticket through DL reservations or AS partner desk.
- Change for free or what fees would apply if not.
Descending order of preference would be:
- Refund miles (not likely)
- Change trip destination to HKG (even less likely)
- Change trip dates to fall
- Change outbound flight to SEA-KIX (instead of SEA-PDX-NRT)
Worst case, I write off my 180000 miles and move on, but I'd rather get something out of them if possible. Any suggestions?
