Don't bother upgrading the SIN-HKG flights. They are less than 3 hours and the miles are more valuable. Chances are if you are elite Economy plus is an option or you can pay to sit there.
Definately do try for HKG-EWR upgrades. Business First is awesome on a flight that long.
