I wouldn't do it because 120k miles is just 5k short of a free ticket on the same route. Meanwhile, that same $2k could buy 144k US miles (when they are on sale). I realize this is all hypothetical (US doesn't have any 144k awards either) because you already own your tickets, but just sayin'... you might want to hold onto those miles for a future trip.
