I don't know if BA has armoured latches, but LH's overhead bin latches are clearly labelled and indicate they can take between 20 to 32 KG (depending on size and make) So if you stuff 3-4 bags in there the limit is reached. Maybe some of the BA regulars can 'weigh' in an let us know what the A32S bins can take.
