While more expensive, a private transfer is the easiest, especially after a long overnight flight. Shuttles are usually a bit less than cruise line transfers. If taking the train, the Ron in Rome! blog has step-by-step instructions. Be sure you have sufficient time for the train (and not with loads of luggage).
