One note, for the new SM's out there, if you didn't already know, a non-medallion on your PNR will drag you to the bottom of the list. This is the same for GM, PM, etc. This is why many people split their PNR and then ask for a companion UG.

How does this work? If I split the PNR and I get my upgrade then have to immediately request my companion to be upgraded before the next person in the list gets it? Or am I just better off chancing it with my non elite companion to ensure we sit together? Does the PNR have to be split before getting to the airport or can it be done upon check in?
(I'm new to trying to get non-elite companions upgraded with me. Thanks for any info!)
