I wouldn't recommend the Tides Riviera maya unless it's changed since we were last there.It was a comedy of errors,except it wasn't funny.
Think loads of mosquito's,overflowing toilet and a leaking roof...oh and air conditioning that couldn't cool the room below 80f.
Tripadvisor is not the place to look as the reviewers are mainly one post reviewers with no benchmarks to compare.

Of the two suggestions so far Amanyara looks superb and mentioned here a few times
The four seasons Hualalai is absolutely wonderful-I want to go back there!!
