To do it the other way around (Fly CO but credit miles to TG) is super retarded, besides having to submit original boarding passes and copy of ticket receipt to ROP office, TG takes pretty much no responsibility of it and will pass the documents to CO to verify and CO will need to credit the miles. This whole process can take up to 3-4 months.
This is interesting and hasn't been my experience. This past year I had a CO domestic US flight or two not credit automatically to my ROP account and had to submit the BP/ticket receipt to ROP office here in Beijing--which they said would be faxed to Bangkok ROP. But everything credited in about 7 business (10 calendar) days. Same experience and time frame in getting Air China flights manually credited. I have no CO or CA FFP memberships so operationally, I'm not sure how those airlines would have credited the miles to ROP.
