[RANT] And by comparison, when I once saw an unattended bag in MIA Terminal D, down in the American Eagle basement gate area and I reported it to an Eagle employee, what did they do? Nothing. I'm timid, so not having the courage to start yelling 'whose bag is this please?' like I once saw on BBC Airport, I went back upstairs and called 911 from a payphone and calmly explained there was an unattended bag in the terminal. Apparently I was talking gibberish to the 911 operator as they didn't understand the emergency...

Eventually, a security guard of some kind came along and picked up the bag and took it away by hand. No robots, no clearing the area, no whistles blowing.. just a lone security guard sent as possible bomb fodder...

I should have just pulled the fire alarm! Perhaps the response to that would have been faster and treated with the severity it deserved???

Oh, this was only about 10 months post-9/11 too...

Since then, I've been more vocal in challenging people I see leaving their bags alone.. do not make me have to pull the fire alarm on you! Because next time, I will. [/RANT]

Ugh!
