I got 2 emails but the 2 cards have not arrived yet. Activation is therefore not a prerequisite to getting the code.
FWIW the application number (or whatever was the big string of numbers) on the application letter does not correspond to the passcode. My family's passcodes were >5000 apart whereas the application numbers were only 10 apart. However the emails showed up one right after the other, matching the tight spacing between the 2 applications, which got instant approval during the first 24 hours of the offer last week.
If this works out as I hope, Cap1 will win 2 long-term customers. If not, it will be a quick and permanent goodbye. I rate my odds at 85% favorable.
