Actually,
PremEx, the photos you have posted are of the first nasty (filthy carpet) type of suite we were originally offered. I believe that is a suite ending in xx44. The xx43 suites are far superior.
I am confused by your "game" reference. I had originally booked one night at the Waikiki and two nights at the Moana. I called five days out attempting to upgrade the Moana reservation with points. The Platinum Concierge said, "There are no suites available now at the Moana, but there are suites available at the Waikiki. Since I know you would prefer the Moana, but realy want a suite, I will reserve a suite for you at the Waikiki and would suggest that you hold on to your Moana reservation and call everyday to see how the suite upgrade situation looks." I did exactly what the Platinum Concierge suggested.
The real complication in this particular situation was, I believe, the unanticipated Presidential fundraising visit to Oahu, and the natural consequences thereof (hangers on staying over for the weekendin Hawaii), together with the fact that a service was led Sunday morning by the leader of the Mormon Faith, in connection with the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Polynesian Cultural Center, which I understand was a very big deal, drawing many, many folks into Oahu.
We ended up quite happy.
