I'm not clear on all this either. Are you saying you had double booked at 2 properties for the same night(s) intending to cancel the one you didn't get upgraded on?
If that's the case, you really wanna know my guess?
Sheraton's Hawaii has one central reservations office/system for all it's properties. My guess is that they saw your multiple reservations, somehow figured out what you were attempting (maybe calls from you or the PlatCon), didn't like the game you were playing (legal or not) and that you were holding a double reservation and thereby hogging an additional room that you likely would not use...and then saw to it that you had some, er...
difficulties.
Of course you can never prove this or get them to admit it, and they'll be able to give you a very legit reason as to what happened. But knowing human nature, I could see this happening.
