As an aside, depending on how long you are staying in DC and your taste in food; in addition to Indian you might try a Vietnamese place. I think DC has some of the best Vietnamese food in the US. Lots of superb places. It is the only cuisine I miss having moved from the DC area to the NY area nearly 20 years ago.
