The point is... DL is still operating the original flight. Nothing at NRT is currently harmful or a threat to life. DL has employees on the ground there and crews flying A/C there. DL is not putting those employees lives at risk. That could change as circumstances change and DL will alter their plans and waivers accordingly. Until it does, why should DL pay a Skyteam partner to carry a PAX that they are fully capable and willing to transport themselves?
The OP hasn't offered travel dates yet. If they are beyond the current waiver dates then perhaps the OP should wait until we are closer to the travel date to decide what to do. As we move forward in time, it is likely DL will adjust the waiver based on circumstances as they evolve.

I blame the media for all of this hysteria. It is a bad situation in parts of Japan, no doubt, but NRT appears to be fine.
OT, i have family members not wanting me to go to CA today because of this same hysteria. I will probably be exposed to more radiation by the smurfs in TPA, than by the plume in southern CA.
