Booked a room in Rome last month using priceline and then found the same room in the same hotel around 7$ cheaper on booking.com. So i called priceline to get this rate matched and claim my 25$ BRG!!
After going through all the recorded msgs, after 5 mins i was able to talk to an agent that told me that she cannot match the price, but she can cancel the reservation, so i can book it from the other site (after verifying that the lower rate was still available).
When i asked her about the 25$ of the Guarantee, she ensured me that i will receive an e-mail in the next days with my coupon! I am still waiting..
I don't bother to ask, bc since then i only use priceline to Name My Own Price and only as a last minute solution!! They saved 25$ and they lost most of my business!! Sounds fair to me!!
Of course you never received the $25 because because Priceline told you they weren't able to do a price match! So in effect all they did was cancel your booking with them rather than process and price match with their guarantee.
