Perhaps someone who was "GA for a day" at the DO or one of the DL folks can comment as to whether the GAs manually slide people into seats or if it is all automated. If it is the former, seems like a pretty easy request. If it is the latter, then probably an issue.

I was standing over a GAs shoulder last Saturday when she clicked my name on the screen and plopped me into 1A. However, I was on the standby list (I wasn't confirmed on the flight at all), so I don't know if this is the way they do it for the standard upgrade list.
