Not a good situation when a hotel is overbooked.. My guess is that it would be the hotel's responsibility to make sure that the party overbooked would get a room elsewhere.. often the overbooked hotel paying for the booking because of the inconvenience. Does this practice happen with Priority Club hotels?
The hotel only pays sometimes and sometimes they walk people to cheaper hotels and pocket the difference.
Also, this very rarely happens to elites at Marriott since they guarantee the rooms and pay very dearly if they walk one.
