Recently while flying PDX-PRG on Alaska (1st class) and Air France (business calss) we found the Alaska lounge closed for maintenance in PDX. We went to the Delta Sky Club and were turned away, even with the business class boarding passes. The gate keeper said the lounge was only available with Delta Sky Club membership.

I found it humiliating to be turned away.

Upon return I contacted Sky Club by e-mail (they do not publish phone numbers). They acknowledged that we should have been allowed access and dropped 5k miles into my account, but did not offer any sort of explanation.

Is this common?
