Japan Trip Update

Sorry for the delay in updating, I was very tired last night.

16 March trip into Tokyo from Narita was made via Limousine Bus because Narita Express wasn't running and I was told that traffic was light. Took the 0930 bus from Terminal 1 and arrived at Shinjuku Station at 1040. Light traffic on the expressways. Some things were closed in Tokyo and train service to towns around Tokyo is spotty, but the JR and Subways all seemed to be running with no evident queues. Tokyo seems to be normal and nobody seemed worried about the nuke situation. Took a late afternoon bus back to Narita after my meeting and again, it took only 70 minutes.

Flew-out on UA 882 on 17 March. Narita was busier than normal, but it really didn't seem like any fear-based rush to escape was on. The flight was totally full, probably because UA had made the cheapest fare buckets available for last-minute travel. Upon arrival in ORD, every single checked-bag was being scanned for radiation by DHS, so it took forever to get our bags, approximately 1 hour. What a ridiculous waste of our time and taxpayer resources! The radiation exposures/measurements in Japan have been ridiculously low, even a mere mile from the plant--lower than what you would get if you lived in Colorado Springs Colorado, naturally from the soil and rock, at 5,000-10,000 microseiverts per year. Is Britain evacuating its citizens from Colorado?
