One other thing - Note that the Banff Springs hotel isn't in "Downtown Banff" (not that it's an urban downtown

...so if you want to visit Lake Louise, the town, the icefields etc. you may want to rent a car for a day once you're there just to noodle around. The hotel will be able to help you out with this.
Oh yeah, and the shuttle is a van, not a bus...
