I'd agree that the US staff in YYZ are terrific.
As to your problem... geesh its just a domestic J seat. Personally I wouldn't get too worked up about it. I'd look at it this way, you save riding on that hideous CRJ connecting in the house of nasty (PHL) and got a n/s to MIA - good deal if you ask me.
