Travel to Asia - radiation worries

I planned a trip to Korea and the Philippines for early April (with no stopovers or change of flights in Japan). Now following the tragic quake in Japan and the media drum beat about the Fukushima reactor problems, friends are telling me not to go.

My rational mind tells me this is paranoia, given that Seoul is 800 miles west of the affected area and winds generally blow from west to east. But my reptilian gut isn't so sure. I'd hate to be stranded in any one place or treated like a leper on my return...time to visit South America instead? Has any one cancelled trips to Asia away from Japan?
