45-minute layover at LAX: will checked items make it?

I had to book a last-minute PHL-LAX-PHX itinerary, with a 45-minute layover at LAX from 9:50P to 10:35P on a Friday. What's the likelihood of my checked items (one bag and one canoe paddle) making it to PHX?
