Yeah, seems like they argued that it made no sense . Guess there has never been a case of a flight crew member bringing down an airplane, and of course none of the 9/11 hijackers successfully passed themselves off as pilots.

Doesn't really matter - other than the annoyance of going through a secondary several times a week while watching flight crew pass through security without so much as a glance - since the machines cannot detect explosives anyway .
