The fare is reflective of several factors, first they probably rather sell that seat to a passenger connecting in GUA to other TACA flights (MIA, LAX, etc). The other factors are the obvious, operating cost+monopolized routes+demand+people willing to pay the fare.

I've booked some flights on TACA Honduras there (Tegucigalpa to Roatan) and they are usually $50-$100 cheaper for the same exact flights taca.com is selling on those regional flights. The only difference will be that the ticket is issued by the operating carrier (Aviateca, Isleņa, etc) and doesn't have a TA-202 ticket number.
