Basically Delta is consolidating flights, of their own choice, not due to circumstances and forcing passengers to pay higher fare differentials.
I won't begrudge them taking the opportunity to make more money. That is the nature of a capitalist society, isn't it? Not going in to whether or not it's ethical, but most businesses will seize an opportunity when they see it. Doesn't bother me.
