I've been thinking a fair bit about this thread and the leather duffel thread. Nor enough to think about the fact that I'm thinking this much about luggage, but, well, let's not go there. But I'm now considering going with a Red Oxx Metro and a satchel/duffel, either my B&R or a leather one I picked up a few years ago and haven't used.

My next trip is 3 or 4 days in Cambridge (UK). I'm thinking of the comments about luggage being like a golf club that someone made and it has me thinking that maybe I need finer granularity in bags. Maybe a one day trip isn't the same bag as a three day but just with less stuff in the bag. Maybe I should be thinking something like:

1-2 days: Tristar
3-4 days: briefcase plus satchel (or Skytrain)
4-5 days: briefcase plus Tristar (or Skytrain)
More than 5 days: BRX19 plus Tristar
