Your elite status doesn't matter. You have to abide by the rules of the purchased fare. If you don't board the flight in ATL, your bags won't continue to Baltimore without you. It's probably best to change your ticket beforehand; if you wait until the day of travel, you could be forced to buy a Y fare for the flights that you want.
