#1 is far and away the most likely possibility, with #2 remotely possible.

Venetian has just about completely done away with comp rooms for anyone less than whale status. The Vegas boards report that even high-roller level players are being treated like dirt. All they're sending out are generic promos for 10% and worthless junk like that. As a result, all the mid-level gamblers (even up to $100/hand players) are getting stiffed and moving to greener pastures. It makes perfect sense that the hosts, who have had their working tools taken away from them, would also find employment elsewhere, if possible.

Obviously, MGM casinos share info amongst themselves, as do CET casinos. There's a central bureau that will provide data about credit lines across casinos. Beyond that, they'd only share info about counters, cheaters, hot check writers, and credit line stiffers.
