How does Delta handle earning the next level of status after a comped status? Example: I am comp'ed Delta Silver and want to earn Gold. Do I have to earn just the additional 25K MQMs / 30MQSs or do I need to earn the full 50K MQMs / 60 MQSs?

I tried searching but found nothing, sorry if this has already been addressed.
