Trip report: PHL-FRA-IST

Didn't start too well, did OLCI but go no BP for LH portion: FRA-IST, at PHL I was told they couldn't do BP, get it in FRA, called LH, they said "NO WAY", *A partners have to give BP's, anyway, found great CS agent at Int'l Service Counter, said the only way was to uncheck me, then do immediate re-check in, also might lose my exit seat (lost it any, but that's another thread), she did it and it worked fine (she seemed happy when I gave her an A & B card). Anyway, good flight to FRA, food OK, service very good. FRA airport makes you feel sorry for lab mice in a maze! Never thought an airport could be so confusing! Security check points everywhere, restaurants very hard to find and get to, just not user friendly. LH flight to IST was normal, except I asked for a mixed drink and got a look like I had asked for something insane (apparently they only have wine). Return was similar, except beware of prices in IST, bought ONE drink at an airport bar ($22.50 US, I thought PHL prices were bad!) Similar experience in FRA, I think I walked about 3 miles to get lunch! Last leg to PHL (flight 701) was excellent, half full plane (I am an optimist), window seat with open aisle, great service, so-so food, smooth flight. Bottom line, great experience from US all the way....
