IMO 7 nights (5+2?) is a LONG time in KL. This isn't Hong Kong or Bangkok or even Singapore where there are lots of excellent things to see and do (Hong Kong and Bangkok way above Singapore in my opinion). You can really cover what KL had to offer in a couple of days. With the exception of the Menara Tower (much better attraction than the twin towe rsIMO) and the night market, KL doesn't seem to have much that isn't done better elsewhere. I recall a city tour that took us to see a tall flag pole.
Had a good stay in a Club Suite at the Shangri La a few years back.
Agree that Traders is a solid four star hotel, but the service and amenities really approach five star. If looking for an amazing view of the twin towers and central location, I wouldn't hesitate on recommending this hotel (especially the top club floors) as opposed to the MO, which is really starting to show its age.
As for KL, you realistically only need 2-3 days to see everything. Be sure to check out Batu Caves. It's one of the best "attractions" in my opinion. Also, be sure to head to Bukit Bintang area for more local flavour shopping, cafes, and restaurants. Suria KLCC is great for luxury shopping and reminiscent for a typical North American mall.
