There is no doubt there are less taxes on STAR carriers. As I noted, the exact same flights (AC 860/861, booked on CO miles) taxes were $350 less.

This is not the point... how can AC get away with charging outrageous taxes completely out of line with STAR? And why do we accept it?

The taxes on YHZ-LHR in Y/J aeroplan match those charged on Rev tickets for same date/route. On the REV tickets they are charging HST. This is why J rev taxes are higher bc fare is higher. But it shouldn't be so on points. Are they thus charging HST on a "free" ticket?
